 Supporting All Saints’ Mission

As with all churches, All Saints’ encourages its members and friends to consider prayerfully how they can financially support the church.

Supporting All Saints’ Episcopal Church

At All Saints’, we are committed to supporting our community through various programs and outreach initiatives. From providing a welcoming space for gatherings to offering spiritual guidance and assistance in times of need, we strive to be a pillar of support for those around us. Each year in November, the Rector and Treasurer invite parish members to make a pledge for the upcoming year. Pledging enables the Vestry to responsibly approve the church’s budget. However, many in our community also give generously through the open plate or by directing gifts through the office, even if they don’t make formal pledges.

While All Saints’ has financial reserves, it is not an endowed parish, and annual gifts are essential to our operations. We accept gifts of cash, securities, and life insurance, all of which are tax deductible and vital to sustaining the work of the church.

Jesus said “where your treasure is, there will your heart be also,” (Matthew 6:21). Sacrificial giving means to give truly from the substance of my life in a spirit of generosity. Jesus extolled the objectively meager gift of a poor widow to the temple treasury because “she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living,” (Mark 12:44).

Annual Pledges

Planned giving, in the form of a prayerfully considered pledge, allows us to give wisely and provides a moment to reflect on where God and his work stand among our priorities. Scripture reminds us to “Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase,” (Proverbs 3:9).

BEQUESTS AND PLANNED GIVING

The Prayer Book directs (p. 320) that from time to time the People are to be advised “while they are in health, to make Wills arranging for the disposal of their temporal goods, and, when of ability, to leave Bequests for religious and charitable uses.” This too is an important part of All Saints’ viability, especially over the long term. Please do consider the church in your estate planning. The rector or the treasurer would be happy to speak with you about how best to do this.
