WHEN: December 14, 2025 at 5:00PM
WHERE: All Saints’ Episcopal Church
Held in the evening on the Third Sunday of Advent.
This cherished tradition brings our parish and broader community together each year in celebration of Christ’s coming, and it is made more meaningful by members of our community lending their voices. Lessons are read by different friends of the church. Guest musicians participate with the All Saints’ Choir. Afterwards a festive reception is held on the courtyard.
The service of Lessons and Carols is a tradition that weaves together scripture readings (“lessons”) and music (“carols”) to tell the story of God’s promise and the coming of Christ. Originating at King’s College, Cambridge in 1918, the service has become a cherished way for churches around the world to prepare for Christmas.
In short, Lessons and Carols is not a sermon-heavy service but a flowing sequence of readings and music that together tell the story of Advent and Christmas. It’s participatory, uplifting, and deeply rooted in tradition.
