Music at the Heart of All Saints’
Who is Margit Miller, Organist & Choir Director?
For more than 27 years, Margit has faithfully served the congregation of All Saints’, sharing her extraordinary musical talents, leadership, and love for sacred music. Her dedication to the church’s music ministry has touched countless lives, inspiring choir members, supporting worship, and helping create a vibrant musical tradition that continues to enrich the parish community.
Margit holds a degree in Music Education and is certified to teach music from kindergarten through high school in the areas of General Music, Band, Orchestra, and Choir. Throughout her career as an educator, she particularly enjoyed teaching Middle School Band and Special Needs Music Education, where she fostered both musical skill and confidence in young students.
Originally from Chicago, Margit attended school with Michelle Robinson Obama and developed a lifelong passion for music. While she is proficient in many instruments, her favorites are the bassoon and the organ, both of which have been central to her musical journey. Her love for nurturing young musicians also led her to direct children’s and youth choirs throughout her career. One of her most cherished memories is from her wedding, when the 30-member children’s choir she directed at Queen of Angels Parish sang during the ceremony, while a Mass composed by her husband for orchestra and organ was performed by a 30-member adult choir.
Music is woven into every aspect of the Miller family. Margit and her husband raised five children, all musicians, affectionately calling themselves “The Von Miller Family.” Their shared love of music has been both a family bond and a lifelong ministry.
At All Saints’, where music is not simply an accompaniment to worship but a centerpiece of the parish’s spiritual life, Margit’s passion, expertise, and devotion have been a perfect fit. She understands the unique power of music to inspire, unite, and deepen faith, and she has spent nearly three decades helping the congregation experience that connection. Her commitment to excellence, her care for choir members, and her heartfelt belief in the role of music in worship have made her an invaluable part of the All Saints’ family.
Through every anthem, hymn, rehearsal, and service, Margit has helped uphold a tradition that the congregation deeply values: worship that is elevated, enriched, and brought to life through beautiful music. Her legacy is not only found in the music she plays, but in the generations of singers, musicians, and worshipers she has inspired along the way.
