As with all churches, All Saints’ encourages its members and friends to consider prayerfully how they can financially support the church. Each year in November, the Rector and Treasurer ask the members of the parish to commit to making a pledge for the following year. Pledging allows the Vestry to approve a budget in the most responsible way. There are, however, some who do not pledge, but who each year give generously either through the open plate or by directing gifts through the office.

While All Saints’ has financial reserves, it is by no means an endowed parish. Annual gifts are essential to the church’s operations.

Gifts of cash, securities, and life insurance are all received and are of course tax deductible.

Altar flowers, lilies and poinsettias

Gifts of flowers are often made to the church, usually in memory of loved ones; donors are recognized in the service bulletin. Please call the office to schedule altar flowers on a date that is significant to you.

Christmas poinsettias and at Easter lilies are also named in memory or thanksgiving of someone.

Memorials

All Saints’ has a Memorial Fund wherein gifts may be directed in honor of loved ones or friends. This fund is used to finance special projects that are deemed to be deserving of such support by the Vestry.

General Support

All Saints’ Episcopal Church is supported by monetary contributions. One-time giving or re-occurring gifts are appreciated and used to fund the operations of the church.

Columbarium and Memorial Garden

The Memorial Garden at All Saints’ is designed to be a place of beauty and serenity, where the cremains of parishioners and the members of their close families can find peace in a final resting place. It was designed by parishioner John Hand.

A fountain sits at the center of the walled garden and is surrounded by wrought iron benches and gates. Brick pathways separate beds planted with evergreen shrubs. Lining three of the walls are bronze niches. Additional niches in the ground are designed to accommodate the cremains of couples.

In order to preserve its sanctity, we ask that visitors refrain from taking photographs in the garden.

Members of the Parish who are interested in purchasing or reserving a niche are encouraged to contact the church.

Special opportunities to give

All Saints’ signature outreach program is the Oak Street Episcopal Mission, a joint ministry project of the three Episcopal churches in Thomasville. All Saints’ and St. Thomas Episcopal Churches have united with Good Shepherd Episcopal church, located in the Stevens Street historic district of Thomasville, with a commitment to revitalize the neighborhood through service.

Since the Oak Street Episcopal Mission was instituted, a community garden has been established, a feeding program serves locals at lunchtime five days a week, and children receive instruction on weekdays at an after-school tutoring program. Members of All Saints’ are committed to serving at-risk children and families in Thomas County. In order to raise funds for their projects, we organize an annual dinner and auction. This event is always extremely well attended, and generous bidding enables us to raise close to $60,000 each year.
